Hervey Bay

A tree hug a day... En trädkram om dagen...

Last weekend we did a quick trip to Hervey Bay. A small town 5 hours drive to the north from the Gold Coast. The major attractions are the whales and the world`s largest sand island, the World Heritage listed Fraser Island.

The drive was quite long, especially since the road goes a bit further inland and not along the coast. That means that there`s really not much to see along the way. When you pass a roadside billboard that advertises cow feed or grazing management, you realise that you are deep in countryside Queensland.

During our stay there we did a 4 wheel drive bus tour around Fraser Island and also went for a trip on the bay checking out the baby whales showing of their tricks!
