That loving feeling

It's day two of our Australian (ad)venture. It means that the jet lag is weighing heavily on my shoulders but I am happy!

It feels great to have brought our daughter to her home country, she does have dual citizenship but for some reason I primarily think of her as Australian, don't know why. I obviously (try to) raise her with my Scandinavian values in mind, but I also wan to incorporate with that all that I love about Australia and it's people. Because to me Australians are friendly, open, easygoing and warm. Australia is a country that is accepting and encouraging to people of all sorts of background. I'm sure it's not perfect, I doubt any place is. It may not be my home country, but it very well could be. It's a country that I have been in love with since I was 12 and that feeling is still there :)

The mission for today is to get over this jet lag somehow (I feel like I have gone through a mincer) and most importantly, teach our daughter to say "G'day".

Happy Sunday everyone! If you have that loving feeling, share it with those around you!

The return

I am back from dazzling Dubai, after having enjoyed a great time with my family! Now my parents and brother are safe back home in Finland, my husband left in the early morning hours for the site. Our adorable girl is catching up on some sleep next to me in our bed. I am back online after almost a week off. It felt good to disconnect for a while. It seems that nowadays you're expected to be available 24/7, if for no other reason than everyone else's peace of mind.

I'll be online from now on, but maybe more sporadically. Maybe not.

Here's a snapshot of a beautiful Dubai moment - Khalifa and the moon.

Happy New Year from Canada

A belated Happy New Year from Montreal. The weather here is a lot cooler than Toronto. No problems keeping a bottle if water cold. Leave bottle in a parked car for a few hours and you will get yourself a decent size ice cube :)

Today we're going skiing and snow tobogganing. Wish us luck!

Early bird

This day got off to an early start, although not by choice. Hubby dearest has not quite adjusted himself to Canadian time and he decided that waking me would be a good idea.

We headed off to check out the Boxing Day sales and we actually managed to bag a little something for all of us :)

Twiddling my thumbs

Can't believe that with approximately 15 hours to go until our flight departs, I am actually packed and ready to go! I have a feeling I have forgotten something essential or that I will do something stupid and leave a whole suitcase behind...

I did have a helping hand when packing, our baby girl was more than happy to assist. I was happy that she hurled just outside the suitcase and not in it!

**********************

Lovely London

I am one of those people that dislikes Paris, but oh how I love London! I've been to London quite a few times, but I still got to experience quite a few new things this time around. We also did a day trip to Windsor to see the castle, the Queen was there but she completely ignored us... I hear she does that to a lot of people. We did get to see a waxy version of her at Madame Tussaud's.

Would you ever happen to catch a glimpse of the queen looking out of one of the windows at Windsor Castle?

Back in the Kingdom

We found a shy relative of Nemo's at the Atlantis aquarium
Vi hittade en av Nemos blyga släktingar i Atlantis' akvarium

We are back in the Kingdom after a 10 day long break. This time we decided to travel locally, so we headed off to Oman which was followed by a few days in Dubai. It wasn't a hardcore touristy holiday, some days we were just taking it easy - or chillaxing as we like to call it!

2287

We are back from our holiday in Turkey and I MAY have become a little bit trigger happy. Today I transferred all the photos to my laptop, all 2287 of them... I know already that not all of them will be awesome, hence also the number of pictures taken!

I'll share more with you over the coming days, because right now Blogger seems to be having some issues...
