Those of you who have had a chance to look into my kitchen cupboards will know that I favour Finnish brands such as Arabia, Iittala etc. Part of this collection are my Moomin mugs. I am not an avid collector, ie I do not have every single one, but I tend to buy those that I think look pretty! While browsing the internet the other day, I came across their two new designs for this year. One is called Mymble's mother, the second one is a limited edition mug to commemorate Helsinki being the World Design Capital in 2012, the mug is called Hurray!

To be completely honest, I was never a huge Moomin fan when I was a kid, and I have only read a couple of the Moomin books. They are huge in Japan, and the books have been translated to more than 40 languages.
How about you, do you have any Moomin mugs in your kitchen cabinets? If so, which one is your favourite?
Dom som känner mej vet att att jag har en liten samling Muminmuggar i mitt köksskåp. Inte en komplett samling, men jag tenderar att köpa dom som jag gillar. Häromdagen fick jag syn på deras nya muggar, Mymlans mamma och Hurra! muggen, en jubileumsmugg med anledning av att Helsingfors är världsdesignhuvudstad år 2012. Mymlans mamma är nog min favorit av dessa två, jag föredrar muggarna som kommer i klara, glada färger. Min favoritmugg är nog den gröna Lilla My-muggen.
Egentligen var jag aldrig nån Muminfantast när jag var yngre, jag tror att jag bara har läst ett par av böckerna. Men på nåt vis så tycker jag om att dricka mitt morgonte (eller eftermiddagskaffe) ur en muminmugg. Det är väl en påminnelse om mitt hemland antar jag.
